Lip filler is one of the most requested treatments, and also one of the most misunderstood. Here's an honest, no-hype guide to what actually happens, what results to expect, and how to look after your lips afterwards.
You must be 18 or over — this is a legal requirement in England. A full consultation and medical history check happens before any treatment.
After your consultation, a numbing cream is applied to keep you comfortable. Filler is then carefully injected to enhance shape, volume, or symmetry — always working with your natural lip shape rather than against it. The goal is always a natural, balanced result, not an overdone one.
There's some pressure and a pinching sensation, but numbing cream makes it very manageable for most clients.
Typically 6–12 months, depending on the product used, your metabolism, and how your body processes it.
Expect some swelling for the first 24–48 hours — this is completely normal and settles quickly. Avoid touching the area unnecessarily, avoid intense exercise, alcohol, and hot drinks for 24 hours, and don't apply makeup to the lips for the rest of the day.
Not if done well — the aim is always a natural enhancement of your own lip shape, built up gradually if needed rather than all in one go.
Facial filler (including lips) starts from £100 for 0.5ml, with package pricing available for larger volumes — see the treatments page for the full price list.
This is exactly what your follow-up appointment is for — always raise any concerns so they can be reviewed properly.
